Architecture and Media
June 11, 2021

How do people perceive architecture? Does it have any effect on society? How is architecture being portrayed in mass media, social networks, movies, TV series?

For Episode 3 of the Design+Peace Podcast, we cover various topics, from the way architecture is presented in schools to the way it is represented on media platforms. Our general manager, Özge Keleş, joins us in discussing the relationships between the media and society, the "Bilbao Effect" and how architects use social media.

We continue our discussion with several examples to demonstrate how the use of architecture in movies and TV shows can create a web between reality and fiction. First, you will hear from Özge about the 1927 silent movie Metropolis and second, a contemporary one: the Westworld TV series.
